Antiparos island
Antiparos is a small island, only 30 minutes away from Paros and is therefore a popular goal for people that like travelling around.
Some time ago only a few would visit it, mainly those who had heard of its famous cave and made a day trip to Antiparos from the nearby cosmopolitan island of Paros.
Today, visitors have discovered that the little sister of Paros is a small world with its own charms,
so more and more visitors spending their holidays here in order to explore it.
In Antiparos the pace of life is easy and smooth and despite the small size of the island, there are plenty of choices and for every taste.
You go to Antiparos for the beauty and the beaches, and surprisingly, for the nightlife as well.
Therefore it is a good holiday resort for both families, youngsters and mature ones.
Antiparos is the sister island of Paros.
You can only reach Antiparos from Paros. From there you can either take a boat from Parikia or Paros city.
The ride lasts about 30 minutes or you can choose the shortest connection from Pounta.
There are regular ferries, which take about ten minutes for the crossing to Antiparos.
In the capital of Antiparos there can be found many taverns, bistros and shops, as the island is during the day a popular destination for tourists from Paros.
In the evening the calm is restored and you can enjoy the evening with a very delicious meal, assuming you choose the right tavern.
The most popular meeting place for the late evening is probably the Platia, a very idyllic Square in the heart of the city.
The Landmark and a popular tourist destination on Antiparos is a cave, which is located inside the island.
The cave is accessible from the port by bus or naturally by car or motorcycle.
The charming white houses with crystal clear waters and beautiful beaches provide a perfect setting that has slowly begun to get more and more popular throughout the years.
There are many lovely old Venetian castle, which if you visit, you will find inside the four quaint old churches of Agios Antonios, Christos, Agios Ioannis and Agios Nikolaos.
Around Antiparos there are many lovely small islets that are well worth visiting if you have the chance.
One such islet is that of Despotiko, which you can visit by boat from the small coastal village of Agios Georgios, located at the south of the island.
Another beautiful islet is that of Salago is located to the north of Chora and other excavations here uncovered the ruins of a settlement dating from the Neolithic period.
It is considered to me the most ancient in the Cyclades.
Antiparos has some many beautiful beaches all over, but the most popular include Sifneikos Yialos, Psaraliki, Agios Spyridonas and Kato Psaralike.
During the summer months, these beaches are ideal for swimming and relaxation.
Visitors to Antiparos will find a wonderful selection of accommodation available including apartments, rooms and studios for rent.
